Robert "Bob" Lindquist

Robert Lindquist, age 63, of Bellingham, passed away February 7, 2007 during his weekly Wednesday Night Trail Ride with the Mt. Baker Bicycle Club. Robert was born on July 21, 1943 in Illinois.

He graduated from High School in California and joined the Navy. He graduated with a degree in mathematics from Western Washington University after attending college in Santa Barbara, CA.

Robert was a mapmaker, specializing in recreation and biking maps. One of his most recent and recognized maps was a self-published Bellingham Whatcom County Bicycle Map. Bicycling was the love of his life including Oregon Coast Trips and local trips.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Suit of Bellingham; son, Erik Lindquist of Bellingham, WA; brother, Ron Lindquist of Chicago, IL and numerous cousins.

A Celebration of Robert's life will begin at 7:30 a.m., Saturday, February 10, 2007 with the Mt. Baker Bicycle Club Doughnut Ride and proceeding to Westford's Broadway Hall at 10:00 a.m. for a Celebration of Life; bicycle attire is appropriate. Mt. Baker Bicycle Club will ride this morning in memory of Robert "Bob" Lindquist, 63, a longtime member who died Wednesday night.

The ride will begin at Kulshan Cycles in Bellingham at 7:30 a.m. and go to Ferndale and back. A reception will follow at 10 a.m. at Broadway Hall in Bellingham.

Rodd Pemble, one of the club's members, said the pace of the 18-mile ride will be slower to accommodate beginners who wish to pay their respects.

Lindquist died while on a weekly trail ride with the group Wednesday evening.
