Shannon Joanna Keener was born on February 14, 1944, in Illinois. Shannon passed away on January 9, 2026, at the age of 81. Shannon was a resident of Santa Clarita, California.
Shannon died of esophageal cancer.

I am totally devastated by Shannon's passing. We "went steady" at Taft, but we then fell out of touch, separated by continents and oceans. I truly loved her and will never forget her. Beautiful to look at and beautiful to be with. She was in every way special and precious.

Shannon was a delightful friend through many years of school. We were pony-tail buds. She was a good athlete before Title IX encoouraged girls to compete. We have lost a wonderful classmate!

Shannon was an excellent horsewoman. I never had any social interactions with her, but I often crossed paths with her when I was riding around the San Fernando valley. She was way above my skills and I enjoyed watching her gallop free and alone across fields and hills. I have a vivid memory of that.

Shannon was always one of the girls that the guys were crazy about. Reading the comments here from Curt Hessler, Richard Price, Beth Hindley , Mickey Cates and Michael Clinite--you all were closer to her than most but just seeing your names is heartening. We were truly blessed in our day and it's great that there are so many classmates that are still around to share memories like this.
