Coach, I know it was wishfull thinking on my part, but, I hoped you would make it to this 50th Reunion of the first graduating class from Taft H.S. You and Coach O'Connor changed my life forever the first day of football practice at Taft when you called me over from the receiver group to the running back group and said "son, I want to try this out'". You changed my life and made me a better person, and for that I am eternally gratefull. Belated thanks for all of that. You will be missed but not forgotten. I love you. Mickey Cates "42"
